We got the chance to work with the great crew over at Focus Features on a full redesign of FilminFocus.com. The site takes a new approach from the traditional movie studio site by creating fresh content focused on the film world as a whole. While it still promotes Focus Features films it also aims to build a community around film lovers and the best minds in the industry. We also had the opportunity to work on sites for great films like ‘Milk’ and the
hilarious ‘Hamlet 2′.

July 23rd, 2009 | Posted in Blog | 1 CommentWe love us some movies and of course movie posters. We went ahead and made our own top 20 list to share with you wonderful folks. All the kids are doing it. We got the images from Graphic Exchange and IMP awards. We are sure there are some we missed or just didn’t see at all but these are the ones we like so far. There is a definite theme of simple and clean throughout. Maybe that’s just where our heads are at. Read more »

Hillary and Mike’s Save the Date
July 22nd, 2009 | Posted in Blog | 1 Comment

So I am getting married to the lovely and beautiful Hillary Townsend Of course we are doing the invites and all related paper goods oursleves. Frankly, what self respecting obsessive compulsive designer would let someone else do their invites. I just wrapped up the Save the Dates and am sending them to get printed shortly. They were a lot of fun to work on and looking at wedding blogs was actually far more interesting than expected. There are a lot of great designers working on wedding related products these days. Especially in the realm of letterpress. We are keeping these inexpensive and going digital but will probably print letterpress for the actual invites.Everything was handrawn other than some of the typography. It was then scanned, vectorized and colored to create what you see above. We hope you like them. Enjoy.
A Serious Man
July 20th, 2009 | Posted in Portfolio | No CommentsTags: A Serious Man, Coen Brothers, Focus Features
When an opportunity to work on a new Focus Features film came about we couldn’t wait. When we found out it was the Coen Brothers latest film, A Serious Man, and we were even more excited. A Serious Man is described as “exploring questions of faith, familial responsibility, delinquent behavior, dental phenomena, academia, mortality, and Judaism – and intersections thereof”. It was a very personal film for the brothers and so we wanted to give them the best site possible.

We just wrapped a cool new site for the brilliant animated film by Shane Acker ‘9′. It was a lot of fun working on it and really came out pretty nice. We don’t want to play spoiler to our friends at Focus Features so we are going to hold off on posting screenshots until after the site launch. We’ll post in the ‘Featured Work’ section once it’s up and running.
Take the GRE

We love working with Studio LLC and MRM worldwide and we got that chance once again. This time we collaborated on a site refresh for takethegre.com for ETS. We took the idea of a college cork board that the site currently uses and helped ETS freshen up and modernize the overall site. Their curent cork board limits opportunities to promote new products and areas of the site. We resovled this by allowing for more interchangeable content and focusing on vital areas of the site. Some sites don’t need to change majors. They just need to go
on to grad school.

I originally found this on Oh So Beautiful Paper but just came across the link again. Incredible creations cut from a simple piece of white A4 paper. I can’t even begin to imagine the time and thought that is goes into these.
KGB
July 1st, 2009 | Posted in Interactive, Our Work | No CommentsKGB is a communications group out of the UK. If you have a Verizon cel phone and call 411, that’s KGB. You may have seen loads of commercials for their new US texting service. Have a question you need an answer to? Text kgb and one of their agents will get you an answer. We worked with Studio LLC on concepts for a way to ‘reinvent search’. KGB has decided to put their eggs in the text basket but you can get a little taste of one of our concepts here. This is one of many. There are a couple that we think are so darn cool that we don’t want to share just yet. We may just want to build things out for a crazy new Ziegz search. We’ll let you know what happens with that. Read more »
